The geometic symmetry of Ghanaian furniture is still limited, there is a lack of information about the reasons to which the furniture and colors used are striking and vibrant. I grew up surrounded by Ghanaian furniture and Kente cloth and would always give it a disaproving look due to the fact that it brought attention. I never was the type to bring attention towards myself,I have felt wrong for doing so.
After desinging this table I discovered that it remined me of a Ghanaian Chieftan’s stool, but was a table instead. The furniture and fabric in my house unintentionally influenced the final product.
